Milestone 2024活动小结

每年一度室外场场轮滑活动，Milestone 2024，于8月11号上午8:30，在Indianapolis的Velodrome如期举行。52名参与者(53名报名)出席了这次活动，其中大多数是小朋友，也有家长。活动经过入场检录，安全演习，开幕式，一小时连续滑行，发奖仪式等多个环节，于上午11点，顺利落下帷幕。这次活动提高了小朋友们的轮滑兴趣，检验了从今年4月份以来，每周参加轮滑课训练的成绩和效果。
这个活动是为初学者量身定制的，中级和高级水平的轮滑爱好者也可以参加。通过每隔一段时间发给礼物的方式，鼓励小朋友滑完一小时。今年是第10届，经过10年的不断实践，证明这是一个可行的方式。活动结束前有的小朋友甚至问下次是什么时候？
十年来，这个活动每届都是由主办家庭的家长主办的，从策划到实施，整个过程。今年的主办家庭总共有下列7家，在此向他们表示感谢(排名不分先后)：

我相信志愿者不止上面的这些人，还有很多，台前的，幕后的，知道的，不知道..., 都是值得我们感谢的。
十年磨剑，经过10年的不断积累，今年的活动组织明显成熟了很多，不再那么焦虑了，不再那么繁忙了，不再需要摸着石头过河了，取而代之的是胸有成竹，从容不迫，活动当天场地开门时间晚了接近半小时，我们仍然准时完成了准备工作，活动按时完成。

Milestone 2024 活动通知

第10届Milestone，将于2024年8月11日，周日上午，举行。
活动内容：在一个300米的环路上，滑行一小时，看小孩能滑多少圈，每积累到一定圈数后（根据小孩的水平而定），可以兑换成一件小礼物，由小孩自己从礼物箱子中挑选，详情可以参考Milestone FAQ https://sites.google.com/site/kidsinlineskateclass/milesstone-faq
活动日期：2024年8月11日，周日上午8:30至11:30，下雨延后，如果当天不能活动，将延期到接下来的某个周日，取决于场地的时间安排。
活动场地：Major Taylor Velodrome, https://indycycloplex.com/。每个报名上场滑行的小朋友都要签Velodrome的liability Waiver，在这里https://indycycloplex.com/waiver 。
报名资格：内部活动，不对外开放。限今年的A, B, C, K,Q组小朋友及成人班，与往年一样，将按平时的成绩，分为不同组。
活动日程安排:
7:15AM 布置场地，架设计圈系统，Canopy，阳伞，摆放发奖品的桌椅
8:00 开始入场，检查waiver是否已签。
8:10 小孩穿轮滑鞋，试滑场地，确认电子学号工作
8:20 紧急撤离演习
8:45 起点点名，强调活动注意事项
9:00 正式开始滑圈
10:00 滑圈结束
10:10 集体照
10:30 发奖品（Milestone2023奖杯，每个人都有）
11:00 主办家庭及志愿者合影，自由活动，清理场地
11:30 解散回家
虽然我们称之为“1小时的活动”，加上前后时间，实际上是一上午的活动，希望家长们计划好时间。
报名截止日期：即日起至2024年6月26日截止。今年的轮滑课/活动报名表上的waiver将自动适用于本次活动，已有学号的，请填写统计表，直接付费（详见，报名费及报名过程）。
主办家家庭：本活动将由本届主办家庭主办，申请主办请在报名时注明。主办家庭的数量将根据报名人数决定，主办家庭的主要任务是为小朋友买礼物（可参考上一届买礼物的情况），并负责当天活动中发放礼物等工作。如果申请主办的家庭数过多，需抓阄决定胜负。如果申请主办的家庭数少于需要的数量，将取消今年的活动。上一届主办家庭，将自动成为本届主办顾问团，但不参与本届活动主办。新加入轮滑课的家庭，欢迎参与主办，这是新来的家庭与其它轮滑成员家庭相互熟悉的最有效途径之一。前几届曾经主办过的家庭也欢迎再次申请主办。
主办家庭确定日期：2024年6月27日
报名费：每个小朋友 $45 ，做为活动经费，属于捐款性质，用于给小孩买礼物，T-shirt ，租场费等；如付现金，周日交给Julie Feng；如果用Zelle (原名Quick Pay)付给kidsinlineskating@gmail.com。报名费一概不退，请考虑好再报名。

没有报名的家庭请注意：这个活动是严格按报名人数精确设计的，没有余量，如果想参加，请一定要在截止期内报名。截止日期之后，我们将不再接受报名，更不接受现场报名。也就是说，如果你没有给你家小孩报名，活动当天，请不要带小孩到场。一定要让小孩上场，请现场向主办家庭交纳80美元现金，做为紧急处理费用，对于这种情况，主办家庭不能保证一定处理临时请求，因为大部分工作都要提前一个月准备。
Waiver: 总计两个waiver，一是轮滑课的waiver，如果你已交过，不必再交，二是Velodrome的waiver，自己在网上填，见前面的说明。
成人班报名：与小朋友手续相同。

Milestone 2024 Event Notice
The 10th Milestone will be held on Sunday morning, August 11, 2024.
Event Details: Participants will skate for one hour on a 300-meter loop to see how many laps they can complete. As children accumulate certain numbers of laps (depending on their skill level), they can exchange them for small gifts of their choice from a gift box. For more details, please refer to the Milestone FAQ: [link provided].
Event Date: Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. In case of rain, the event will be postponed to a following Sunday, depending on venue availability.
Event Venue: Major Taylor Velodrome [link provided]. Every child participating must sign the Velodrome's liability waiver, available at [link provided].
Eligibility: This is an internal event and not open to the public. It is open to children and adult students from classes A, B, C, K, and Q of this year. Participants will be grouped based on their usual performance, as in previous years.
Event Schedule: 7:15 AM: Setup of venue, circle system, canopy, umbrellas, arrangement of prize tables and chairs 8:00 AM: Entry begins, waiver check 8:10 AM: Children put on roller skates, test the track, confirm electronic ID functionality 8:20 AM: Emergency evacuation drill 8:45 AM: Roll call at the starting point, emphasis on event guidelines 9:00 AM: Official start of lap skating 10:00 AM: End of lap skating 10:10 AM: Group photo 10:30 AM: Prize distribution (Milestone 2023 trophies for everyone) 11:00 AM: Photos of hosting families and volunteers, free activities, venue cleanup 11:30 AM: Dismissal
Though referred to as a "1-hour event," it actually spans the entire morning, so please plan accordingly.
Registration Deadline: From now until June 26, 2024. The waiver already signed for this year's roller skating classes/activities will automatically apply to this event. If you already have a student ID, please fill out the registration form and make payment as detailed in the registration process.
Hosting Families: This event will be hosted by the families of this year's Milestone. Interested families should indicate their willingness to host during registration. The number of hosting families will depend on the number of registrations. The primary responsibility of hosting families is to purchase gifts for the children (based on previous years' examples) and assist with distributing them during the event. In case there are too many families applying to host, a draw will determine the selection. If there are insufficient applications, this year's event may be canceled. Previous hosting families will automatically become advisors but will not participate in hosting this year's event. New families joining roller skating classes are encouraged to participate in hosting as it's an effective way to integrate with other skating families. Families who have previously hosted are also welcome to apply again.
Hosting Family Confirmation Date: June 27, 2024
Registration Fee: $45 per child, serving as event funds for purchasing gifts, T-shirts, venue rental, etc. Payment can be made in cash to Julie Feng on Fridays or Sundays, or via Zelle to kidsinlineskating@gmail.com. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Pay the registration fee of $45 per person via Zelle to kids Inline Skating Inc, kidsinlineskating@gmail.com. If paying in cash, hand it to Julie Feng during Friday or Sunday classes.
For families not registered: This event is strictly designed based on the number of registrations, with no extra slots. If you wish to participate, be sure to register by the deadline. We will not accept registrations after the deadline, nor will we accept walk-in registrations. In other words, if you haven't registered your child, please do not bring them to the event. If you still wish for your child to participate on the event day, you must pay an emergency processing fee of $80 in cash to the hosting families on site. However, hosting families cannot guarantee immediate handling of such requests, as most preparations need to be made a month in advance.
Waivers: There are two waivers in total: one for roller skating classes, which you only need to submit once if you have already done so, and one for the Velodrome, which you can fill out online as explained earlier.
Adult Class Registration: Follow the same procedure as for children.
