2011
2011年夏，两岁半的安吉开始跟爸爸学轮滑，地点，West Carmel Monon Bridge 东北角上的停车场，当时停车场刚修过，我家还在东Carmel住。从4月份开始，经过四个月的练习后，可以自己滑着上桥了，这张照片2011年8月7号照的，正好与后来的Milestone活动时间重合。这是就Kids Inline Skating 的最早学员，只有一个小朋友。当时教学最大难点是没有小朋友的轮滑环境，即没有榜样，在那种情况下，让一个两岁半的小孩练轮滑，别提有多费劲了。
当时曾想用教成人的方法，完全无效，根本不听，也听不懂。经过长时的观察，慢慢发现了小朋友学习轮滑的特点，发展出后来小孩轮滑课教学方法。从2011年开始，安吉就一直跟着小孩轮滑班练习，2022年4月25号，13岁的安吉和同伴Erica Lai一起成为小教练，教6-8岁的Q班轮滑。
2023年4月，14岁的安吉已专业训练室内速度轮滑一年，并赢得了她的第一个室内初级比赛。

In the summer of 2011, two-and-a-half-year-old Angela Xiu started learning rollerblading from her dad in the parking lot at the northeast corner of West Carmel Monon Bridge. At the time, the parking lot had just been renovated, and we were living in East Carmel. After four months of practice starting in April, Angela was able to skate up the bridge on her own. The photo was taken on August 7th, 2011, coinciding with the later Milestone event. Angela was the earliest student of Kids Inline Skating, and she was the only child at the time. The biggest challenge was the lack of a rollerblading environment for children, meaning there were no role models. It was extremely difficult to teach a two-and-a-half-year-old child to skate under such circumstances.
At the time, I tried teaching Angela using adult teaching methods, but they were completely ineffective. She didn't listen and didn't understand. After a long period of observation, I gradually discovered the characteristics of how children learn rollerblading and developed teaching methods for kids' inline skating classes. Angela has been practicing with the children's rollerblading class since 2011. On April 25th, 2022, thirteen-year-old Angela and her friend Erica Lai became junior instructors and taught rollerblading to the Q-class for six to eight-year-old children.
In April 2023, 14-year-old Angie had been professionally training in indoor speed roller skating for a year and won her first indoor junior-level competition. (Updated on 4/18/2023)
