(English version is at end of this notice )
企鹅班内容:以训练为主,少量教学, 1) 连续滑圈; 2)技术练习(转弯,刹车,过障碍); 3)接力游戏;上课时间:每周一晚上7:00-8:00PM;
B组最低要求暂时定为16公里/小时或10mph(以1小时测试为准)。

请用Chase Quick Pay付给kidsinlineskating@gmail.com (收款方:kids Inline Skating Inc),注明“skate class+小朋友名字(英文First Last)"。

(Class rules)

黄牌:只警告不处罚,最多两次。包括(但不限于):1) 撞人或绊倒别人不道歉者;2) 同一错误口头警告两次以上无效者;
(Red card penalties)

Introduction to Kids Inline Skating Activities and the Course Registration Notice for 2023
In 2023, the activity format will continue from 2022, with two types of activities: on-site classes and street skating. Children with zero experience will take on-site classes, while those with basic skills will do street skating (with occasional technical teaching). The group codes will remain the same as last year: A: advanced group; B: intermediate group; C: beginner group; K group: Trail starter class for children aged 9 and above; Q group: Penguin class (6-8 years old) on-site class.
Q group: Penguin class (6-8 years old) on-site training class, which must be indicated in the registration form, is open to new students aged 6-8. The purpose of this class is to train new students and build their strength. The class will be held every Monday from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the spring session running from April 17th to May 29th, the summer session from June 5th to July 10th, and the fall session from July 17th to August 21st. Registration is one week before the start of the class, and each class consists of 6 lessons. After registration, please attend as many classes as possible, ideally no less than 60%. Otherwise, please register for the next class. The spring session is limited to 24 children, with a maximum of 8 new students per family and a maximum of two children per family. The minimum age is 6 years old (based on September 1st) or 5 years old if they have a basic preschool class (approval required). The upper age limit is 8 years old.
Penguin class content: mainly focused on training with a small amount of teaching, including 1) continuous circle skating; 2) technical practice (turning, braking, obstacle crossing); 3) relay games. Class time is every Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
The class location will be randomly selected from the Creekside Middle School staff parking lot (3525 W 126th St, IN 46032) and several other locations nearby to ensure there is no conflict with others. For example, it may be the West Clay Elementary School parking lot, etc.
The start date of the Penguin class is April 17, 2023, Monday. If the class cannot be held due to weather or other reasons, it will be postponed to the next Monday or made up at an appropriate time, which will be decided by the coach.
K group: For children aged 9 years and above, this is a Trail start-up class. The route is from Monon Center to 96th Street and back, covering a distance of 4 miles, commonly referred to as the K group route.
The format of the activity is group practice, with a focus on training, while parents walk or ride bikes to follow along. For the first two sessions, safety education, starting, braking, turning demonstrations, etc. will be provided to help everyone get started. After that, the coordinator will gather everyone together once a week. The time is every Sunday at 6:30 PM, starting on April 16th. The meeting point is at Monon Center. The Penguin class (Q group) can participate in this activity according to their own situation.
Beginner Group C: Friday street skating, 7 PM, Creekside parking lot. 6-9.7 miles, about 1 hour 20 minutes. Starts on April 21 and ends at the end of September, with a fixed route. There are 6 rest stops along the way, with a few minutes of rest at each stop. Other groups are also welcome to join. The Friday street skating will be coordinated through the WeChat group and skate event calendar (kidsinlineskating.org). If there are not enough leaders and sweepers, the activity for that day will be suspended. Parents can serve as the lead and sweeper on bicycles. Newcomers to this group are required to be able to brake and maneuver obstacles proficiently and maintain a minimum speed of 8 mph. Otherwise, they should sign up for K or Q groups. Beginner Group C will provide on-site training and correct technique based on everyone's skill level. Parents must follow along if Q or K groups participate in Friday street skating, skating at their own pace.
Intermediate group B/advanced group A (AB group): Every Sunday at 6:30 PM, over 10 miles, one to two hours. Starting from April 2 and ending in late September. Divided into intermediate and advanced levels, with a basic route in Carmel and a few routes in surrounding cities (not fixed). The gathering point for the Carmel basic route is tentatively set at the Monon Center parking lot, and other gathering points for different routes will be notified separately. A and B groups need voluntary leaders and sweepers, and parents can join the group as leaders/sweepers if they do not know how to rollerblade, they can ride bicycles as leaders/sweepers. If there are no leaders or sweepers, the event will be automatically cancelled. A, B, and K groups share the same WeChat group and skate event calendar (kidsinlineskating.org) for Sunday activities. It is recommended that children who participated in the A and B groups in previous years sign up for this group. Newcomers should be cautious and are not recommended to sign up for this group directly unless they have previous experience because this group requires real-time handling of unexpected incidents on the road. A and B groups will set up on-site classes according to the situation, training relay races, strengthening skills, and there will be student IDs, tests, and performance records. When there are on-site classes, the rollerblading activities on that day will be cancelled. The minimum requirement for A group registration is completing a half-marathon (21 kilometers or 13.1 miles) within one hour, also known as "half-marathon in one hour," based on race results. For those without race results, please test yourself: complete the round trip from 146th Street to 86th Street Monon within one hour (including crossing the road). The minimum requirement for B group is temporarily set at 16 kilometers/hour or 10 mph (based on a one-hour test). The above rules are mainly to prevent some children in the group from overtraining while others do not train enough.
Cross-group rules: Fast groups can skate with slow groups, except for the Q group, which cannot join any other group. When the slow group tries to skate with the fast group, parents must follow. The arrangement from slow to fast is QKCBA.
Huangpu adult roller skating class: There are three sessions this year. Starting from the last week of June on Saturdays, there will be at least 8 hours of roller skating technical practice and intensive training every Saturday from 7-9 PM until the end of the Milestone. The goal is to prepare adults for participating in this year's Milestone. This adult class requires registration, and the registration process is the same as for children. The adult class requires a certain foundation, at least the ability to skate. The registration deadline is June 20, 2023. Adults with no foundation can sign up for the K class, and those who cannot skate on trails can practice in the parking lot. Beginner adults should use hip protectors.
Annual events: Milestone, P2P, Halloween Skate, Spring Skating Party, Skating Competition, and other activities are basically the same as previous years. Notification will be sent before each event. There are limited spots available for hosting the Milestone event. Those interested in hosting should indicate their interest in the mini program. The final hosts will be confirmed before the Milestone event.
Registration: To reduce the workload, there are some changes to the registration process this year. Please cooperate and complete the following three steps (in no particular order):
Fill out the registration form on the registration:
You passed the deadline of 4/12/2023 8:00PM
and fill in the brief information of the young skater and their parents.
Sign the registration form: Download and print the PDF registration form at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cd8QVA7ElD0zzefslqGiYcPl2kRmC-bp/view
. Sign it, then scan or take a photo and email it to kidsinlineskating@gmail.com (use this email address for both registration and payment). If a family has two children registering for the same class, they can fill in one form, otherwise, please fill in two forms.
Pay the registration fee: The annual fee is $40 per person. Regardless of how many classes or weekly skate events the young skater attends, they only need to pay the registration fee once a year (Milestone and P2P require an additional registration fee). For example, if a young skater can only attend one class or event due to a long summer vacation, the registration fee is still $40. Please use Chase Quick Pay to pay to kidsinlineskating@gmail.com, and specify "skate class + skater's name (First Last in English)". The registration fee is a donation and will be used for young skaters' skate activities.
Registration fee refund: Full refund will be given to those who withdraw within the first two weeks for any reason. After that, no refund will be given.
Registration deadline: All registrations will close at 8:00 PM on April 12th. If the Penguin Class is full, the registration will close early, and an announcement will be made in the group.
Registration requirements: 1) Strictly abide by the skate class rules; 2) Meet the age requirements; 3) Families who are registering for the first time need a referral from a member of a family who has had two years of skate class experience. Please indicate this on the registration form; 4) Families need to have their own health insurance (in case a young skater gets injured and needs medical care).
Weather Factors
Classes/activities will be canceled in rainy or cold weather. If there are too many consecutive cancellations, we will make up for them according to the situation, and the makeup time will be chosen by the coach based on the weather conditions. Parents are requested to cooperate with us in adjusting the makeup time.
Limit and Enrollment of New Skaters
To minimize safety hazards, new roller skating students will be limited and undergo a review process. We will review and admit new students in the order they registered. Those who do not pass the review or have filled all available spots will receive a refund of their registration fee and form. Please understand if your family has not registered for the class. The number of new skater spots may vary slightly depending on the quarter, depending on the situation. If you cannot register for this quarter, you can try to sign up for next quarter's class, usually starting a week before the start of class.
Equipment Inspection for New Skaters
New students should contact their coach (sometimes scheduled uniformly based on registration) before the class starts to check their roller skating equipment, including helmets, gloves, elbow pads, knee pads, and roller skates. Based on past experiences, most new students' first class is affected by problems with their skating equipment. Toy roller skates are not suitable for class because they have a lot of resistance. Also, for safety reasons, particularly for helmets with safety issues, you cannot attend class until all issues are resolved. Parents should prepare early.
Returning Students
Parents, please check your child's roller skating equipment for problems in advance. Since children grow quickly, please prepare new roller skates if their current ones are too small. Please address any problems with protective gear or helmets before the class starts. The speed of returning students has continued to increase, and protective gear has become increasingly important to them. To minimize the risk of injury, parents must pay attention to protective gear checks before class to ensure that there are no problems and that the gear is correctly worn.
Discipline for Roller Skating Class and Activities
Children (especially new ones) and parents should read the roller skating class discipline carefully before registering and explain it to their children:
20180401 Version: Children's Roller Skating Training Class/Roller Skating Activity Discipline and Penalties (Class rules)
Discipline: Obey the coach's commands, take classes seriously, and pay attention to safety. Try to avoid collisions and intentionally hitting or tripping others. If you accidentally hit or trip someone, apologize promptly. Help each other and learn together, without discrimination or bullying of new team members or junior members.
Warning and Penalty Rules: Yellow card warning and red card penalty
Yellow card: Only a warning, no penalty, up to two times. Including (but not limited to): 1) No apology for hitting or tripping someone; 2) More than two verbal warnings for the same mistake.
Red card: Penalty
One red card: 1-week suspension
Two red cards: 26-week suspension (equivalent to half a year)
Three red cards: permanent disqualification from all future registration related to roller skating, including (but not limited to) training classes, activities, Milestones, P2P, etc.
Red card accumulation: Red cards only accumulate and do not decrease. Once you have received a red card, it is permanently valid.
Red card penalty includes (but is not limited to): 1) two yellow card warnings are ineffective; 2) intentionally performing dangerous actions that threaten others' safety; 3) bullying new team members or junior members, discrimination, and other such behaviors.
The red card penalty includes (but is not limited to): 1) when two yellow card warnings are ineffective; 2) intentionally making dangerous moves that threaten the safety of others; 3) bullying or discriminating against new team members; 4) both parties involved in a fight will receive a red card, regardless of who initiated it.
The roller skating coach, the leader of the street skating group, and the group's tail-enders all have the authority to issue verbal warnings, yellow card warnings, or propose red card penalties. The red card penalty must be confirmed and voted on to take effect.
