Milestone 2023 Event Notice

The 9th Milestone event will be held on Sunday, August 6th, 2023.

1. Event details: On a 300-meter loop, children will skate for one hour to see how many laps they can complete. After reaching certain lap milestones (depending on the child's level), they can exchange them for a small gift of their choice from the gift box. 2. Event date: Sunday, August 6th, 2023, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. In case of rain, the event will be postponed to the following Sunday, depending on the venue's availability.

3. Event venue: Major Taylor Velodrome, https://indycycloplex.com/

Every participating child must sign the Velodrome liability waiver, which can be found here: https://indycycloplex.com/waiver

4. Eligibility: This is an internal event and not open to the public. It is limited to children and adults from this year's A, B, C, K, and Q classes. Similar to previous years, participants will be grouped based on their performance in regular classes.

5. Event schedule:

7:15 AM - Venue setup, setting up the lap counting system, canopy, umbrellas, arranging tables and chairs for award distribution.

8:00 AM - Entry and waiver check.

8:10 AM - Children put on inline skates, test the venue, and ensure the electronic numbering system is working.

8:20 AM - Emergency evacuation drill.

8:45 AM - Roll call at the starting point, emphasizing important instructions.

9:00 AM - Official start of lap skating.

10:00 AM - End of lap skating.

10:10 AM - Group photo.

10:30 AM - Award distribution (Milestone 2023 trophy for each participant).

11:00 AM - Photo session for organizing families and volunteers, free activities, and venue cleanup.

11:30 AM - Dismissal.

Although we call it a "one-hour event," considering the time before and after, it actually takes the whole morning. We kindly request parents to plan accordingly.

6. Registration deadline: From now until July 7th, 2023. The waiver form filled out during inline skating class/activities registration will automatically apply to this event. For those who already have a registration number, please fill out the registration form and make payment directly (see registration fee and process for details).

7. Host families: This event will be hosted by the organizing families of this year's event. If you wish to host the event, please indicate it during registration. The number of organizing families will depend on the number of registrations. The primary responsibility of organizing families is to purchase gifts for the children (reference can be made to the previous year's gift purchases) and manage gift distribution during the event. If there are more families applying to host than needed, a lottery will be conducted to determine the winners. If the number of applying families is fewer than required, this year's event will be canceled. The organizing families from the previous year will automatically become the advisory team for this year's event but will not participate in organizing this year's event. New families joining inline skating classes are welcome to participate in organizing, as it is one of the most effective ways for new families to get acquainted with other inline skating members' families. Families who have previously hosted the event are also welcome to apply again.

8 Host families confirmation date: July 7th, 2022.

9. Registration Fee: $45 per child, serving as an activity fund and considered as a donation. The funds will be used to buy gifts for the children, T-shirts, rental fees, etc. If paying in cash, please give it to Dan Nie, @Sunshine (sweet colin). If using Quick Pay, send it to kidsinlineskating@gmail.com. The registration fee is non-refundable, so please consider carefully before registering.

10. Registration Process: Two steps:

2)Pay the registration fee as mentioned above. If paying in cash, please submit it to Dan Nie, @Sunshine (sweet colin) during class on Fridays or Sundays.

11. Attention to families who haven't registered: This activity is strictly designed based on the number of registered participants and has no extra capacity. If you want to participate, please make sure to register within the deadline. After the deadline, we will no longer accept registrations or on-site registrations. In other words, if you haven't registered your child, please do not bring them to the event. If you still want your child to participate, you must pay an on-site emergency processing fee of $80 in cash to the organizing family. However, in such cases, the organizing family cannot guarantee that your last-minute request will be accommodated since most of the work needs to be prepared one month in advance.

12. Waiver: There are two waivers in total. The first is for the inline skating lessons. If you have already submitted it, there's no need to submit it again. The second is for the Velodrome, which you need to fill out online as mentioned earlier.

13. Adult Class Registration: The procedure is the same as for children.

Milestone 2023 活动通知

第9届Milestone，将于2023年8月6日，周日，举行。

活动内容：在一个300米的环路上，滑行一小时，看小孩能滑多少圈，每积累到一定圈数后（根据小孩的水平而定），可以兑换成一件小礼物，由小孩自己从礼物箱子中挑选，详情可以参考Milestone FAQ https://sites.google.com/site/kidsinlineskateclass/milesstone-faq

活动日期：2023年8月6日，周日上午8:30至10:30，下雨延后，如果当天不能活动，将延期到接下来的某个周日，取决于场地的时间安排。
活动场地：Major Taylor Velodrome, https://indycycloplex.com/。每个报名上场滑行的小朋友都要签Velodrome的liability Waiver，在这里https://indycycloplex.com/waiver 。
报名资格：内部活动，不对外开放。限今年的A, B, C, K,Q组小朋友及成人班，与往年一样，将按平时的成绩，分为不同组。
活动日程安排:

7:15AM 布置场地，架设计圈系统，Canopy，阳伞，摆放发奖品的桌椅

8:00 开始入场，检查waiver是否已签。

8:10 小孩穿轮滑鞋，试滑场地，确认电子学号工作

8:20 紧急撤离演习

8:45 起点点名，强调活动注意事项

9:00 正式开始滑圈

10:00 滑圈结束

10:10 集体照

10:30 发奖品（Milestone2023奖杯，每个人都有）

11:00 主办家庭及志愿者合影，自由活动，清理场地

11:30 解散回家

虽然我们称之为“1小时的活动”，加上前后时间，实际上是一上午的活动，希望家长们计划好时间。

报名截止日期：即日起至2023年7月7日截止。今年的轮滑课/活动报名表上的waiver将自动适用于本次活动，已有学号的，请填写统计表，直接付费（详见，报名费及报名过程）。
主办家家庭：本活动将由本届主办家庭主办，申请主办请在报名时注明。主办家庭的数量将根据报名人数决定，主办家庭的主要任务是为小朋友买礼物（可参考上一届买礼物的情况），并负责当天活动中发放礼物等工作。如果申请主办的家庭数过多，需抓阄决定胜负。如果申请主办的家庭数少于需要的数量，将取消今年的活动。上一届主办家庭，将自动成为本届主办顾问团，但不参与本届活动主办。新加入轮滑课的家庭，欢迎参与主办，这是新来的家庭与其它轮滑成员家庭相互熟悉的最有效途径之一。前几届曾经主办过的家庭也欢迎再次申请主办。
主办家庭确定日期：2022年7月7日
报名费：每个小朋友 $45 ，做为活动经费，属于捐款性质，用于给小孩买礼物，T-shirt ，租场费等；如付现金，周五，周日交给Dan Nie, @Sunshine ( sweet colin)；如果用Zelle (原名Quick Pay)付给kidsinlineskating@gmail.com。报名费一概不退，请考虑好再报名。

没有报名的家庭请注意：这个活动是严格按报名人数精确设计的，没有余量，如果想参加，请一定要在截止期内报名。截止日期之后，我们将不再接受报名，更不接受现场报名。也就是说，如果你没有给你家小孩报名，活动当天，请不要带小孩到场。一定要让小孩上场，请现场向主办家庭交纳80美元现金，做为紧急处理费用，对于这种情况，主办家庭不能保证一定处理你的临时请求，大部分工作都要提前一个月准备。
Waiver: 总计两个waiver，一是轮滑课的waiver，如果你已交过，不必再交，二是Velodrome的waiver，自己在网上填，见前面的说明。
成人班报名：与小朋友手续相同。
